Day 26 – GDT – It is a Wrap, the Amiskwi and Howse Done – Celebration at the Crossing

Howse River Plain to The Crossing – 7.7 miles

Celebration!!!

I am so thankful to be out of this hard section of the Great Divide Trail without some kind of pulled muscle or deep gash.

The hike this morning to our resupply spot, The Crossing Motel was in much better shape. It was a cruise.

We were able to get laundry done, eat a hot lunch, visit with a GDT South bounder, and chill. The WiFi is very weak here and there is no cell service, so not sure if I will get blogs up before leaving for the next section tomorrow morning.

The next 118 mile 6 day section is supposed to be the most spectacular of the entire GDT.

  1. Glad you completed it without major injuries. Well done, ladies!

  2. Glad you made it out of the sketchy section. Hope the next one is much better!

The Sierra’s are full of smoke. Had to cancel my trip that was supposed to start today. Maybe we can go at the end of the month; here’s hoping.

  3. Never a good sign (horse skull). Hopefully it was one of Thompson’s he didn’t need much. shrug

Great job getting through that tough section – and with no injuries! Looks like a moose skull. Looking forward to your photos of the next spectacular section. Thanks so much for taking us along on the GDT.
