AZT mile 332.5 to Roosevelt Marina
11.7 miles
A little mouse that tormented me most of the night. Just when I thought I had scared him away he came back. The only damage I can see is one of my guy lines on my tent has been chewed on. I fixed it with some DCF tape.
I am camped tonight outside the Roosevelt Marina. The Marina holds hiker boxes and has a hiker hut to recharge electronics. I am resting in the shade and eating. The burger and sweet potato fries are amazing. No showers here, but the store has been very kind. Tomorrow I have a 20 mile water carry with 6 days of food AND a big climb up up into charred Four Peaks Wilderness.

It looks beautiful. Burgers are the best when off the trail!
I love your photos and following your hike. I hope there are no more nice in your future! Looking forward to your next report.
I’m sure the Burger and fries tasted mighty good. Loving all your photos and enjoying your hike. Keep up the good attitude and don’t let the mouse get to you.
You certainly earned that burger! Now I want one…
Any idea how much the six days of food weighed? How much water did you start out with for the twenty miles? Could you use some sort of cart or hand truck? Your pictures are beautiful.
Food about 8 pounds. Water 3 liters. I felt like I needed a hand truck. :0
I’ve really enjoyed following your hike so far and look forward to seeing the remainder. Your stories and pictures are great! I’m hoping to hike the AZT someday and appreciate being able to live vicariously through you for now. Safe travels!
Hi Christy, Wish I was there! Came to love the South West. went there several times when living in St Paul, MN . Love the pastel colours you are capturing. Rest up and then ” Go Girl” ! When you have a moment, would be interested to know why you prefer a gas cannister stove rather than an alcohol one such as Trail Designs Caldera.
Keep away from the mice!!
Best wishes
Barrie
Hello Barrie,
I have the Trail Designs Caldera and will use it when I am with a group and cooking. When I am solo, I want something light, clean, and less chance of starting a forest fire.
I understand why a backpacker would want to take a photo of their meal, but it just baffles me why anyone else would!
Looks like two Zpacks tents in the camp area.
