Day 17 – GDT – Banff Zero, Oh Ya

Your body can do anything…it’s your brain you have to convince.

My bed is a magical place where I suddenly remember everything I forgot to do.

Just staying at Banff – 0 miles

Banff is a very busy tourist town with very friendly and nice people. Everywhere I went today to run errands, I was met with kindness and customer service.

After much loving care from Keith and Leslie, we are ready to hit the next 5 day section.

  1. New shoes! Yay. Based on your recommendation (and a couple of others) I’ve purchased and will be wearing those shoes on my JMT hike next month.

  2. It is good to be in your happy place!

You’ve been wearing that brand of shoe for some time. I suppose they must be working out well then?

So glad you have a place to rest and regroup with friends. Loving all you beautiful photos of Canada. It is definitely a gorgeous country. We have been to Banff and it definitely is a tourist place but beautiful. Enjoy

    Hi Christy
Following your GDT with great interest. Love your super photos and also your various quotes. I have camped at Banff and along the Icefields Parkway and walked in that area too. Out of this world! I saw a few posts back your quote of Rusty Baillie. Curious. the only Rusty Baillie I know is /was an incredible mountaineer and is still active in the Mountain club of South Africa, living near Pietermaritzburg in Kwa Zulu Natal, south africa. Here am I in Canberra, australia, but I knew rusty when we were both in Boy Scouts together in Salisbury, southern rhodesia, now Harare, Zimbabwe.
