The mountains are my walls, I cannot escape them. ~Ella, my grand daughter
Trout Creek to Crest Horse Campground – 21.3 miles
Pretty much it was all uphill.
Routine, settling in, and meshing.
Bryn hikes 3 mph all day.
Little things mean the most like brushing teeth in the outdoors
Meadows and views = Freedom
Meet and greet with women solo section hikers
Southern Washington has like 1 campsite every 10 miles
Give us a picnic table and a clean pit potty with toilet paper and we are happy women.
Belatedly catching up on this hike. What a wonderful day. Just love the shots of Mt Hood.
Well I guess Bryn takes after her mom hikin’ 20 miles a day! Go Bryn Go!
What beautiful pictures of your hike, but more beautiful with your daughter along! I love that she is into reading the maps, navigating, and taking in all of the nature including bear cubs!
So lush, green and breathtakingly beautiful. Brings me such happiness to look at these photos.
My heart is full! Photos are great.
Guess I’m spoiled, but my “dream hike,” no matter where it is, always includes lush vegetation, conifers, lots of waterfalls, the scent of balsam fir on the air. Seems like the Washington PCT stretch looks somewhat like that. Closest I’ve come to that on this coast in the Smokies in NC/TN and Maine wilderness. Continue the enjoyment and hike in safety!
Sounds like you need to visit the Pacific Crest Trail through Oregon and Washington soon.
