Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

Parting of the Waters to Heart Creek

For us the CDT has presented an afternoon thundershower or two most everyday. I love the cool air and renewal it brings to the forest. It usually begins like this:
-wind blast of cold air
-dark clouds overhead
-thunder in the distance
-light rain or hail
-clouds part and it is sunny once again
The next few days we will be hiking through the area of the 1988 Yellowstone fire. The trail followed a bright green new forest growth and a plethora of wildflowers. I love this terrain. It is gentle, rolling, and open. Bear and wolf tracks on trail are literally keeping our group on our toes.
Rain is lightly starting to fall on my tent. The sky is dark and a new storm is brewing.
Streams and wild flowers. Awesomeness!
Hey, a double rainbow! 🙂
Good eye. You caught that one.
The “Double Rainbow” guy lives here in Mariposa. Did you ever see that youtube video?
Seriously the “Double Rainbow” guy lives near you? How funny is that? I think everyone around the world saw that video!
I think you’re right. 🙂 I see him all around town, in the grocery store, at the pizza place. He’s a celebrity.
