Fernandez Creek to Illiouette Creek – 19 miles
It was hard cold last night. I was miserable. Camping at 9,200 was a mistake.
First off this morning was a thousand feet up to Fernandez Pass. What a cool pass. The view from the top rates to me as one of the finest with a skyline view of so many formable Sierra peaks. My happy place!
After eating lunch at the top of Merced Pass, it was all downhill on good trail.
I am camped toward the bottom of the descent with 4.6 more miles to finish this trail. Tomorrow morning I will be completing the Theodore Solomons Trail at Glacier Point.
I am hoping to get an early start to enjoy sunrise light on Half Dome. Tonight promises to be cold again. We will see if that happens. Alarm is set for 4:00 am.
I still have not seen a soul and I am in Yosemite.
So beautiful! Some great photos for sure. Looks like you have the selfie-on-a-stick routine down well!
What a wonderful photo-essay of the TST! Congrats on being the only trail finisher for 2018! You certainly earned your way through determination.
What awesome views you experienced and have shared with your followers.
Stay warm if you can! The views you are capturing are nothing short of spectacular!!!
