Day 4 Theodore Solomons Trail – Yosemite Cruising

“I’m the walkingest girl around.  I like to work at it – really get my heart pounding.” –  Amy Yasbeck

Fernandez Creek to Illiouette Creek – 19 miles

It was hard cold last night. I was miserable. Camping at 9,200 was a mistake.

First off this morning was a thousand feet up to Fernandez Pass. What a cool pass. The view from the top rates to me as one of the finest with a skyline view of so many formable Sierra peaks. My happy place!

After eating lunch at the top of Merced Pass, it was all downhill on good trail.

I am camped toward the bottom of the descent with 4.6 more miles to finish this trail. Tomorrow morning I will be completing the Theodore Solomons Trail at Glacier Point.

I am hoping to get an early start to enjoy sunrise light on Half Dome. Tonight promises to be cold again. We will see if that happens. Alarm is set for 4:00 am.

I still have not seen a soul and I am in Yosemite.
