“You are the Morning Nazi.” – Why Not
August 7
Curator to Jasper – 16.2 miles
I am the Morning Nazi.
I wake up at 5:00 am, gently ask, “Why Not are you up?” There is always a few rustling noises and she says, “Yes.” We are up and on the trail by 6:00 am everyday. Why Not recently let me know her, “Yes, everyday also is joined with a few not so nice silent thoughts about getting up so early.
It is quite remarkable how fast 2 women can hike when they know they are out of food.
We finished the Skyline Trail in record time and Why Not secured the best hitch into Jasper. She is a great sweet talker.
Our bellies are full of amazing food from Earl’s Restaurant and we are checked into the Downtown Hostel. All is good.
Your use of the term Nazi is alarming here. Because you wake up early and ask your trail partner to get going you have something in common with those who killed six million Jews? Don’t contribute to trivializing this term.
This looked like an easier day with a lovely trail (aside from doing 16 miles). 🙂
Tekarra Lake and mountain – Wow!!!! So beautiful. I am amazed at the variety and beauty of the place.
I find commonality with Why Not’s comment! Five AM is early. It is a bit funny that after so many trips together you find this out. I really hope that you both can work that out to the happiness of both parties. As you must know, you are both an inspiration to many, nonethelesser to me. Thanks for sharing. It really means a lot.
I continue to enjoy your everyday adventures on your hike. I see some wildflowers and loving all the lakes. Continue on to your next mountain top experience.
