I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Emerging Snow Plant in Wet Meadows ~ Mokelumne Wilderness
I think this photo portrays the very essence of Christmas with promise of hope, peace, love, and birth. I spotted this peaceful setting minutes after entering a mosquito infested meadow on the Pacific Crest Trail. In order to access my camera, I immediately threw down my pack, quickly slipped on my mosquito head-net, long-sleeved shirt and pant legs and then enjoyed this blissful emergence.
May the miracle of Christmas fill your heart with warmth and love.
Merry Christmas!
