Arizona Day 6 – Flowers, Cacti, Mile 100 & Desert Sunsets at Last

Forest Road 231 to Hwy 83 – 16.6 miles AZT mile 106.6 and hitched into Vail, resupplied and got back on trail

Early morning and the cacti begin
Getting to lower elevations the plants are budding out
Greener and greener
And the Yucca blooms begin

We hit 100 mile marker of the Arizona Trail
It really does look like this for miles
Flowers begin
Camp
Sunset in the desert

  4. Couldn’t quite make out what kind of bush that was next to your Tent with the different colors hanging off of it! What was it? The infamous Clothes Bush!!! Ha Ha!

    Are you seeing any rattlesnakes? It looks like that is where they would be seen. You two are brave to be sleeping in tents in the desert. Enjoying your pictures and glad you are seeing some blooms on the cacti.

    The sunset photo is beautiful! What is the temperature like on this trail this time of year? I imagine it varies from day into evening?
