One piece of log creates a small fire, adequate to warm you up, add just a few more pieces to blast an immense bonfire, large enough to warm up your entire circle of friends; needless to say that individuality counts but team work dynamites.

The PCT has a way of bringing together individuals that can be pleasantly diverse. Half Step, Ramblin’ Rose, Crasher, Serenity, Yard Sale, and Soft Walker currently named “Team Vagabundas” are 5 intrepid PCT hikers who stayed with us recently for rest, food, laundry, and of course the Internet. This fun and energetic group have come together for a common goal. They are from different countries and regions of the United States, speak multiple languages, vary in age groups, gender, and back country experience, and there is even a mother and daughter team. What they do have in common is an obvious genuine respect, liking, and commitment to one another. It was refreshing to be among such camaraderie.

Yep they are on the trail…really!
The snow in the Sierras and north to Washington is from 200 to 400 percent above normal this year, with a very late snow melt due to a cooler than average spring. We are wishing this team sure footing, safe stream crossings, and lots of good stories to tell.

I saw Serenity and Ramblin’ Rose my first week out:)
How cool is that? Wishing your Sierra Team success.
You have really become quite the bed and breakfast. Such fun to meet all those new people. You will have friends all over the world.
Yes we are the lucky ones!
