Back at it @SunshineVillageBanff. What a change a day can make. An incoming storm gifted us with moody skies, firm snow, and low light. 360 degree views all day.

Next up @dbrosander , @keithbrodsky and I are heading out to the Cariboos in the Columbia Mountains to Heli Ski with @cmh_heli . Oh baby!

Happy Easter from @sunshinevillage Canada. @dbrosander and I are in the midst of being spoiled rotten by @lesliegerein and @keithbrodsky in their very special Banff home.

Fun was had chasing our personal guide @keithbrodsky around Sunshine Village drinking coffee, making lots of turns, looking at the views, more coffee, more skiing, and more views.

Beautiful bluebird day in the Rockies.

THIS little guy is now 17 months old. His favorite word in earlier days “Anne” is now replaced with “This”. Sawyer LOVES to be outside exploring, digging, climbing, looking up at the sky looking for the moon, birds and planes. He has become quite proficient at down climbing steep terrain and analyzing contours to find the path of least resistance.

Indoors he loves to “Help” with house chores and cooking and is in constant search of anything with a motor that will turn on. He has even been sighted cleaning up a few of the items he has scattered throughout the house.

More importantly Sawyer is never one to pass up a snack to refuel his energy.

WOW here it is the NEW even better @gossamergear Gorilla 50 backpack!

The Gorilla has been my go to backpack for years. Let me count the ways I have loved my pack: the 50L size, how it loads, how it can manage weight for multiple day trips, the fit (I am 5’2” and a small fits me like a glove), and how it performs on rough terrain and on trail.

Turn baby turn CITY USA. Man, it was one heck of a week @mammothmountain and @junemountain. It seems that just being flexible and waiting out Mother Nature is the key to getting in ALL the fun. When the sky is spitting out snow one minute, wind another, and then…wait for it…the skies open. Magic happens. A few times this week I thought, “Can it even get better than this?” Ya I kinda am bragging, but heck, why not?

Rounding out the week @dbrosander and I were super lucky to spend time on and off the slopes with some pretty cool friends, @milissajayn , @bradthieleart , @hikesandcakes and Cesar.

AND the week would not have been complete without our #adventureanne van. We love her!

New exploration in the outdoors continue with Sawyer, my grandson or as I refer to him, “N”. At 15 1/2 months old he is deep in learning new and hard things. Today, he ran down our driveway without a major catastrophe, discovered our spring fed creek and then down climbed into it, enjoyed a good view (did you hear the sigh of wonderment) and just sat and watched a herd of deer. After all that, we shared a protein bar and a nice cold drink. Looking forward to our next “Date”.

Ski #day25 what a fine surprise with a few inches of fresh POW combined with some stashes of wind buff and the top open. @dbrosander and I quickly took advantage skiing Climax Ski Run for the first time this year. It was pretty sweet. Finished the day out lapping Chair 23 and riding with our friend Scott! Thanks again for the cold wind on my face and my skis flying downward. Until next week! #caribooprep

June Mountain Ski Resort really delivered today with great snow, NO crowds, kind and enthusiastic staff, and hometown charm. Our ski legs got a workout lapping lift J7 and the vibe was simply a joy! Thanks @junemountain for reminding me why I so love this sport. #day24 #needforspeed

Quads burning and smiling from ear to ear…
It was that day.

Fresh snow on Dave’s Run covered that nasty ice cornice left from last year’s snow. It made for some pretty cool turns. Even dusted off our GoPro. #preppingforthecariboos

They’re all on crack!

We said “Yes” and joined @grantrosander and friends for #creeksgiving at Indian Creek climbing area outside of Moab, Utah. Apparently Creeksgiving is a big deal and climbers flock to these iconic sandstone splitters every year. 🧗‍♂️

If you are thinking, “What in the heck is crack climbing?” That was exactly what I asked! According to Wikipedia, “Crack climbing is a type of rock climbing in which the climber follows a crack in the rock and uses specialized climbing equipment and techniques.” I prefer to think of it as the jamming of body parts into vertical cracks on a very tall wall to inch up slowly with lots of positive encouragement from supporters below. 🙌

Crack climbing has some interesting rules or commandments. 😳

Here are a few:
⭐️Use your body as a jamming device
⭐️Thou shalt expect to suck
⭐️More surface area between skin and rock equals a better jam
⭐️Thou shalt toprope the sh** out of everything

Creekgiving feast scored over the top with a ton of gourmet homemade food from scratch with music, laughter, and drink. Climbers were invited on the fly to join in the festivities. It was pretty great.

Thank you everyone for making this Thanksgiving a memorable experience and we sure hope to be invited back next year! 🦃

Snowmaking on steroids @mammothmountain, a thing of beauty.

Thanks to hard working crews, plentiful water, and cold temps those machines can be heard throughout the mountain making that soft fluffy snow we love. ❄️
