Day 15 – GDT – A Wine Night It Is

Mountains teach that not everything in this world can be rationally explained. – Aleksander Lwow

July 20

Big Spings Campground to Magog Lake Assinigoine Park – 10 miles

Easy peasy day.

We cruised over Wonder Pass to our reserved site at Magog Lake and entered a magical world. Healthy forest and green meadows abound.

Assinigoine Park is really quite overwhelming with beauty and majesty.

After Wonder Pass, we passed Naiset Huts and then the Assinaboine Lodge. The lodge faces the most captivating setting, the view of Mount Assiniboine and all it’s grandeur.

The timing was perfect to set up our camp at Lake Magog, then walk back to the Lodge for beer, wine or tea. They serve to hikers between 4:00and 5:00.

It really was quite fantastic sitting sipping wine overlooking such fine scenery.

Heading to Banff tomorrow for zero and resupply. More yaaaaaaay.
