Day 14 – GDT – Walking Banff’s High Meadowlands

”You’re not camping that far from me.” ~ Rockin’ says to Why Not

July 19

Below Pallister Pass to Big Springs Campground Banff National Park – 15 miles

Blue bird sky! After trekking up to the top of Pallister Pass, the sun’s heat quickly dried out our clothes and gear. Such a relief after yesterday’s rain, hail, and wet bushwacking.

Today we entered Banff National Park and it was our first day with nice trail and no huge ups or downs, just relatively flat trail.

In the park, backpackers are required to camp at pre-reserved sites. Our site was 15 miles from last night’s camp and tomorrow we will hike 10 miles to the next camp at Lake Magog. Also, we are hoping to attend high tea at the Assiniboine Lodge. It’s gunna be fun!
