Upper Horseshoe Lake to Marion Lake – 9 1/2 miles
Windy Ridge * Grey Pass * White Pass * Red Pass
Just gotta say we are on day 3 of no GPS for navigation! These ladies are working very hard to trust the map and what they think is true. It is not easy and it is quite entertaining to see our whole process of where to go.
We continue to navigate around, over, and through snow fields. We have not seen another hiker since starting The Sierra High Route. Pretty cool right?
This day was full of beautiful views. It is interesting working to find routes that everyone is comfortable with. Oh how I love the high Sierras.
My camera is having troubles, which is super disappointing and my voice is hoarse with lots of coughing at night.
Those photos of Lake Marion are so beautiful!! -I’m curious too, what are the low temps?
It has not been too cold at night…in the 30’s and 40’s. The lakes have been unusually gorgeous this year!
You guys have been choosing some sensational campsites by those high lakes. I’m envious!

It has been a great temperature this year at night. We have enjoyed the evenings and have not froze at night. 30’s and 40’s at night and 70’s during the day.
