Day 1 SHR – Without a Hitch

Let’s see just how long we can go without turning on the GPS…~Rockin’

June 21
Road’s End Trailhead to Lower Tent Meadow – 4 miles

These guys are the best.

We pulled off the transportation by train and car with all of us coming from different locations to meet in Fresno. Made it to Road’s End Ranger Station by 3:30 and secured a permit and a place to park without a bat of an eye.

After realizing it was super hot with a lot of elevation gain ahead of us, we hung around the trail head messing with our gear until the sun lowered on the horizon, hiked up about 4 miles and here we are happy and lucky to start this challenge together.

Let’s do it.

  1. Seriously…The plaid shirts… Totally unimportant, but I recently began working at REI, and I’m pretty sure I recognize them! lol They look fabulous on you, btw!

      Hi Mac!
Oh man I just traded the shirt for one with a hood for sun protection! Think I will get it back!

  2. Plaid shirts x2, you trend setters!

Boy now you make me want to get that shirt back. This trail is hard on equipment and clothes!

  3. Looking forward to our…I mean your…hike! Get that camera warmed up, I don’t want to miss any good shots! 🙂

  4. Wahoo, day 1! Hope you three have a really great trip. And enjoy catching up as well.

  5. Congratulations and safe travels
