Colorado Summer Art | CDT Video Part 5

I think of myself as of an artist who loves to hike. But a hiker who loves to paint is probably a more precise description. For me, nothing replaces being outside in nature.

I am thrilled and honored to share that artist Nancy Romanovsky chose to paint from another of my photos of aspens. Last year she painted  Sierra’s Radiant Aspens of a photo taken in the Eastern Sierras (North Fork Big Pine Creek) from the blog entry Falling for Fall.

This year she selected a picture from the trail journal entry Oh Wyoming taken while I was hiking on the Continental Divide Trail this summer. I love how she captured the beautiful summer colors, light, and the emotional feel of the actual day. All this from a photo. Even more interesting is I remember the moment I took the photo I felt it was meant to be painted! How very cool is that? Be sure and visit Nancy’s website featuring her original art capturing scenes from the trail and nature.

Love the paintings. Did the PCT in 2013 and now that I have finished writing about our journey I started taking painting lessons. My instructor wonders why all I want to paint is mountain scenes.

Nancy Romanovsky is quite amazing. I admire anyone that takes on the challenge of paint and canvas. One should never get tired of mountain scenes. They fill the soul. Period.

  2. I love the artwork of Nancy R. It has such a good feeling to it. I also loved the video. It was refreshing to see.

  3. A beautifully done video, once again! I so enjoyed watching this bit of Summer.
And a lovely painting as well!

    • I just love making and sharing the videos. What is funny is Wired’s mom from Walking with Wired, was surprised to see the tattoos on my arms in the Yellowstone pic. Relax everyone they were Pirate temporary stick ons that Drop n’ Roll provided. It was in honor of entering Yellowstone, or as Ninja would say “Jellystone”.

Nancy did such a nice job. Glad to share her work. Thank you for posting!!

You always have the best videos. I always look forward to them!

I really do like Nancy Romanovsky’s work. It is so lovely. I can only imagine it in person. Really. Usually the internet pictures just don’t do artwork any favors but the pictures on your site really show how lovely Nancy’s work is. You are so honored by her picking some of your photos to paint. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, I have been to her site twice.

    • You are so right Warren. Readers, if you haven’t visited Nancy Romanovsky’s site go now. She has lovely paintings to view or purchase with a focus on nature and aspens. It is a treat.
