Owens Peak - May 1, 2010

This is a great early season workout that rewards the climber with beautiful views of Owens Valley, Mount Jenkins, Kern River Valley, and north to the currently very snowy High Sierras. Our route left the trail head at the end of Indian Wells Canyon in the Southern Sierra Nevada and the beginning of Owens Peak Wilderness. The route is mostly on trail, but there are also many alternate cross-country routes to the top. After an awesome day we celebrated with sodas at the Indian Wells Brewing Company on Highway 14.
